Christmas Door Card

Because I don’t know what else to call this! LOL So…on these cards, can I just say–WHAT.THE.HECK. How do you use these?? I first tried running it through an 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock, cut in half, and lining up the die to make 2 cuts that you adhere together. Don’t do this. It doesn’t work. It ends up with you wasting at least 20 card bases because they don’t line up correctly and aren’t rescue-able.

Next, I tried something similar with 12×12 cardstock cut in half. I don’t think this is necessary, the 8.5 x 11 would have been plenty, but I did eventually figure out that they needed to be folded just beyond the edge of the die. However, this isn’t foolproof, either, as I repeatedly found out. Seriously, out of 24 cards, I had only 6 usable bases. :(

The most frustrating part of the whole experience was the utter lack of directions. Not a paper insert, nothing printed on the package, not even a QR code to a video, or a mention of the Sizzix website, nothin.’ :(

I love how these turn out, and I saved all the teeny tiny pieces I had previously cut to be used in the future, but in general, I don’t think I would wish this die on my worst enemy!

Hello Sunshine Card

I recently grabbed some Spellbinders card kits on a super clearance, and have been enjoying my first one! It’s been fun to just play with a set of new-to-me supplies. Definitely means I should be making some homemade kits to play with, too! <3

Happy Christmas

This layout is for the same album as the last layout–but this spread is specifically for Christmas Day memories. Reading the Christmas story, handmade hooded towels from Grandma, the awesome yellow Humvee, and a letter from Santa. <3

December 2015 Month In Review

Sharing a layout from my 2015 Month in Review album. This one was just general December memories. I feel like I definitely need to add some journaling, though! We painted with pom poms to make Christmas trees with ornaments, met our family’s elf, Clementine, and sang at church. So fun. And I had fun playing with all the blinged out elements, here, too! Foiled polka dot cardstock, foiled embellishments, a couple glittery enamel dots, and gold foil borders. <3

A Diamond is Forever

I added journaling after the fact that explained how I looked down while driving and my diamond had fallen out of my engagement ring.  When I got back in the car later, it was waiting for me in the center console! I wore my Grandmother’s engagement ring while my set was fixed.
